The word of the week in my  character development series  is “kindness.” These books on kindness will be a great way to begin discussion about how reach the world through kindness and why it is important. Please hover over the character development tab to reveal all 52 words we focus on in this series.   Kindness begets kindness Just as a bully of a boss can foster a culture of bullying and fear down the hierarchical line, so can kindness from one help to foster kindness in others. We often take our cues from leaders, coworkers, labmates, and others we live with many hours a day.

Do you want to make the world a better place? Then, be kind. This is not a gimmick. In a world beset by negativity, kindness is like a ray of sunlight shining through the dark clouds of pessimism, anger, and misery. It does not take too much effort to be kind. Moreover, it does not cost so much to extend kindness to others. Doing random acts of kindness is an awesome antidote to negative.   This week’s theme for the Virtual Book Club for Kids is Kindness and we are featuring the book Try a Little Kindness by Henry Cole. We chose this theme as we lead up to Martin Luther King Day and toward Valentine’s day next month.

See our collection of fun kindness ideas, inspirational stories & quotes, FREE K-8 lesson plans and more. Let's make kindness the norm. “Kindness is helping the world, one person at a time.” “Let us remember: one book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.”.   With this Campaign of Kindness we're launching a worldwide challenge for all people to make it A Better World in any way they can. Small actions make .
